Getting Small Foot online

A domain and professional email, a verified Google Business Profile, and the listings that make a small carrier look legit and get found. In order, step by step.

Order of operations

The sequence

1 · Domain + email

Lock the name, set up pro email.

2 · Publish the site

Point the domain at the website.

3 · Google profile

Verify it, fill it, add photos.

4 · Claim CarrierSource

Take over the unclaimed listing.

5 · Other listings

Bing, Apple, FB/IG, Yelp.

6 · Keep NAP consistent

Same name, area, phone everywhere.

Step 1

Domain & email

The domain gives the site a real address and lets him email from @smallfoottransport.com, which reads as legit to shippers and brokers.

Recommendation

Google Workspace for email (it's Gmail on his own domain, nothing new to learn), with the domain bought in the Workspace signup or at a low-cost registrar. Go all-GoDaddy only if one login, one bill, and phone support matter most. The website is a single static file, so hosting can be free.

Route A · Workspace

  1. workspace.google.com → Get started.
  2. Business name, team size (1), country.
  3. "Buy a new domain" (smallfoottransport.com) or "I already have one."
  4. Create info@smallfoottransport.com.
  5. Pick Business Starter, add payment.

Route B · GoDaddy

  1. godaddy.com → search the domain → add to cart.
  2. Skip upsells; add Professional Email if wanted.
  3. Check out (note the renewal price).
  4. Create info@ in the email dashboard.
  5. Host the site free or on GoDaddy hosting.

Step 3

Google Business Profile

Free, and the biggest lever for Search and Maps. Set it up as a service-area business and hide the home address.

What we need

  • Business name: Small Foot Transport LLC
  • Published phone (dedicated line or Google Voice)
  • Website URL
  • Service area: NJ cities/counties served
  • Hours
  • 5–10 photos: logo, truck, loading, driver
  • A Google account to own it (use the new business email)

Categories & verification

  • Primary: Auto transport service
  • Secondary: Trucking company
  • Secondary: Transportation service

Verification for service-area businesses is usually a short video (truck, branding, tools, area) or a postcard. Plan for a few days.

Step by step

  1. Sign in with the business Google account → google.com/business.
  2. Enter Small Foot Transport LLC; choose Auto transport service.
  3. "Serve customers at their location?" → Yes. Don't show a street address.
  4. Add the service area, phone, and website.
  5. Complete verification.
  6. Fill hours, description, opening date (2021), services, photos.
  7. Turn on messaging and start requesting reviews.
