A beautiful site
that's quietly paying the OTAs

A hands-on teardown of your live site, checked in the browser: the visuals, the booking flow, the languages, the chat, and the mobile experience. Short version: it looks great and the bones are there, but it isn't built to win the direct booking, so every reservation you could own is going through Expedia, Booking and the rest at a 15–20% cut.

The scorecard

Website Box Score

Six things a hotel site has to do, ten points each. Graded on the live experience, not the design taste, which is genuinely good.

The site earns its points on looks and languages. It loses them exactly where it matters most for revenue: turning your own audience into direct bookings, and following up like a real front desk.

The teardown

What's working, what's leaking

What's genuinely good

  • The hero is gorgeous. That sunset shot does more selling than most hotels' entire sites.
  • A booking search is right there on the homepage, check-in, check-out, guests. The bones of a reservation flow exist.
  • It's already multilingual, a language switcher (EN / ES / FR / IT) covers your Dominican, American and European guests.
  • There's a chat widget, so guests have a way to reach you without leaving.
  • Clean, calm design that matches the brand.

Where it leaks money

  • No reason to book direct. Nothing tells a visitor they'll get a better rate or a perk here vs. Expedia, so they book on the OTA and you eat the 15–20% commission.
  • The 12K aren't funneled here. A viral TikTok has no clean path into this booking flow, no offer, no email capture.
  • Auto-translation reads rough. Wix's machine translation is fine for gist, not for a premium Spanish that converts, your Dominican guests deserve real copy.
  • Follow-up is thin. The chat is a basic inbox, not a CRM, no automatic reply, no capture, no "abandoned booking" nudge.
  • Some deep links 404. Direct URLs (e.g. /rooms) hit a not-found page, which hurts sharing and Google.
  • No video. The hero is a still, a room-tour or "day at Solaz" video would lift bookings and SEO.
The one-line diagnosis: the site is a lovely brochure. To be a booking machine it needs one job made obvious, book direct, right now, best rate, in real English and Spanish, wired to your social and your follow-up.
Does the CRM set up right?

Front-desk follow-up, not just a chat box

You asked the right question. Right now a guest can message you, and that's it. A real setup captures the lead and follows up automatically, the difference between a "maybe" and a booked room.

Today

  • A Wix chat inbox, answered when someone's free.
  • No instant auto-reply when a guest reaches out at 2am from another timezone.
  • No email/phone capture tied to a follow-up sequence.
  • No nudge when someone starts a booking and drops off.

What we'd wire in

  • Instant auto-reply (EN/ES) the second a guest messages, so nobody waits.
  • Lead capture on every inquiry, into a simple CRM you own.
  • Automated follow-up: "still thinking about Las Terrenas? here's a direct-book perk."
  • A booking-abandon nudge to recover the reservation before it goes to an OTA.
The fix

A book-direct rebuild, through Marketta

You don't need to lose what's good, you need it pointed at one job. Built fast through Marketta (our web partner), hosted and kept fresh by R0BATO like our other clients.

🎯

Book-direct, front and center

One obvious job: best-rate direct booking, with a reason to skip the OTA (perk, free breakfast, late checkout).

🌐

Real bilingual, one tap

Proper English & Spanish (not machine translation), one-tap toggle. French easy to add for the Las Terrenas crowd.

🎬

Video hero & ambiance

Your "day at Solaz" film and beach-sounds loop as the hero, the site feels like the stay, and ranks better on Google.

📱

Mobile-first & one-tap book

Most of your TikTok traffic is on a phone, the whole flow rebuilt so booking is a single thumb-tap.

🔗

Wired to your socials

Link-in-bio and every campaign point here, so the 12K finally have a place to land and book.

⚡

CRM & follow-up built in

Instant auto-reply, lead capture, and automated nudges, a front desk that never sleeps.

~$2,999 launch · then $50/mo hosted & maintained

A see-before-you-pay Marketta build, kept current by R0BATO. Every direct booking it wins pays back the OTA commission you'd have lost, usually in a handful of reservations.

Bottom line

Keep the beauty, add the engine

The site already looks like Solaz. The rebuild makes it work like Solaz, one clear path to book direct, in your guests' languages, wired to the audience you already built and backed by follow-up that closes the sale.

Review based on a live hands-on check of solazboutiquehotel.com (desktop) in July 2026; a full mobile QA pass is part of any rebuild. OTA commission range (15–20%) reflects typical booking-site rates. Marketta build delivered by our web partner and maintained by R0BATO. This is a website/marketing review, not a technical security audit or a booking-revenue guarantee. See the Partnership tab for how the site fits the full engagement.
