A few questions before we ramp up

Your answers decide what goes in the ads, the Stories and the posts for the rest of the year, and questions 13 to 19 finish your Roof of the Year entry, due Oct 16. A line or two per question is plenty, and you can skip anything you'd rather talk through. What you type saves on this device as you go, so you can come back and finish later.

01What should we push hardest?

Pick everything you want more of between now and the end of the year.

02After a storm, how fast can you get out?

Your homepage says "same-day emergency response." Before a storm ad says that, I want to know it holds up. Do you cover or tarp an open roof?

03Is a roof inspection free?

The site promises photos and a written scope. Can an ad say "free roof inspection"? Same question for a gutter inspection.

04Is "no deposit to schedule" still true?

An earlier carousel said it. If it's still true, it's a strong line for ads.

05What can we say about financing?

The site says "financing available" and nothing more. Who's the lender, and is there a line you're comfortable with in an ad, like a monthly payment or a promo?

06Golden Pledge on every replacement?

Your roof replacement page says the warranty (Golden Pledge or Silver Pledge) is named in each contract. Can ads say Golden Pledge, or should they just say GAF Master Elite?

07Which towns do you want more jobs in?

Name the towns or ZIP codes to aim the ads at, and any you'd rather not drive to.

08Who picks up when an ad rings?

Who answers calls and form leads, and during what hours? If nobody can pick up at night or on weekends, we can pause the ads then.

09How many jobs a week can you take on?

Roughly how many more roof installs and gutter installs a week the crew can handle. This sets how hard we push the ads.

10Do you install through the winter?

If there's a cutoff (cold, snow, a date), the ads switch from installs to booking spring jobs and storm calls.

11In your words, what makes Ten Point different?

What you do that other roofers around here don't. Say it the way you'd say it to a homeowner. We'll use your words, not ours.

12Which jobs can we film?

Upcoming or recent roofs and gutters we can shoot, and whether each homeowner is OK with their house being shown.

GAF Roof of the Year: due Friday, Oct 16, before noon. We're entering the October job, Chris Metro's house at 23 Pleasant Ridge Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, in GAF's "Most Challenging Roof" category. We filled in what Roofr and the contract show, so check it and fix anything wrong. GAF needs the details below, plus two signed forms: one from you and one from the homeowner. Print both forms, sign them, take a clear photo of each, and text the photos to Rob.

13Who is the homeowner?

Roofr has Chris Metro. Confirm his name, and that the email and phone in Roofr are the ones for GAF's homeowner release. GAF requires the homeowner to be 21 or older.

14What's the job address, and is it in an HOA?

GAF doesn't accept homes in an HOA, condo or similar association. The map puts this house near Saw Creek Estates, so please check with Chris.

15When was it installed, and which shingle and color?

The signed contract says Timberline HDZ in Cliffside. Our drone footage has the install on Oct 5 and 6. Fix anything that's off.

16Which GAF accessories went on?

The category needs at least 3. The signed proposal lists Pro-Start starter strip, FeltBuster, WeatherWatch, Seal-A-Ridge and the Cobra Snow Country ridge vent. Tap every one that actually went on.

17Which warranty is this job getting?

The signed contract shows Silver Pledge, and Roofr has the job at "Submit Warranty." Most Challenging Roof doesn't need a warranty number. If you upgraded this job to Golden Pledge, tell us: that opens GAF's Gold Standard category.

18Are these the right before photos?

We pulled the before photos from your CompanyCam inspection on Sep 16: the back of the house, the worn valley and the mossy lower roof. They're photos 1 to 3 on the Roof of the Year page. If you have a better one, tell us.

19What made this roof hard, or special?

This feeds the written answer GAF scores for 40% in this category. In your own words: the octagon, the 10/12 pitch, the dormers, the two skylights, the decking you replaced, the weather. A few lines is enough. We'll shape it into GAF's write-up and you approve every word.
